Norman Jackson British Royal Air Force on his 30 th and last mission if he made it back flying in a Lancaster bomber over Germany the plane is attacked by a German fighter wounds several of the men on the plane but catches the wing on fire. Jackson knows the plane will blow up. He gets a fire extinguisher crawls out on the wing in the dark at the slowest the plane will fly 130 mph. The crew has his parachute lines holding him on tight he sprays the flames out. As he is making way back off the wing the fighter attacks again shooting Jackson off the wing catching the plane on fire again the crew lets his chute go. it catches fire as it drags over the flaming wing. The Pilot tells every one to jump out 4 of the crew safely jump. Later at a German hospital the crew members are amazed to find Jackson alive in the hospital. After the war he was awarded the Victorian Cross only 16 flyers out 150 thousand received this citation!!!!
