Northern trains terminating at Uttradit Two express train services from Bangkok to Chiang Mai have been cancelled and the other three trains are terminating in Uttradit from Monday,Sep 16 until the end of October to allow repairs to the track following more than a dozen accidents on the 300km stretch this year. Starting Monday, all north-bound trains are terminating at Sila-art station in Muang district, Uttaradit. The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) said only three services are now operating on the northern line, and two express train services have been temporarily cancelled. Train travellers are being bused in both directions between Chiang Mai and Sila-art. Express train No. 9 leaving Bangkok to Chiang Mai, which normal departs at 8.30am, rapid train No. 109, leaving Hua Lamphong at 12.45pm, and express train No. 51 leaving at 10pm all now terminate at Sila-art. The express train leaving Bangkok at 6.10pm and due at Sila-art station at 1.57am, and the express train departing at 7.35pm and due at Sila-art at 3.27am are cancelled until the repairs are complete. They are expected to resume service on Nov 1, the SRT said. There have been 13 accidents this year on the line between Uttradit and Chiang Mai.
