Not TMI related but I said Id post my parabatais English assignment when I was done writing it so here (also theres no ending because she said she wanted to do it) ~Sebastians Girl “Help me!” The scream of torture carried through the castle, this wasn’t unusual since it was Hades underworld palace but something about this voice was alluring like it was calling to me. I pulled my bed sheets from my body and slipped silently out of bed, my bare feet touching the cold stone floor making me shiver as I did so. I was used to the screams and to all the pleas for help but something was drawing me to it; the voice was simply mesmerising. I snuck out of my room making sure not to utter a sound as I walked, roaming the corridors I had to stop when I heard voices at one of the corridors, I pulled myself back in panic and held my breath as I listened. “He is a traitor to us all Persephone; He deserves to rot in there for all eternity.” Father’s words hit me like someone had poured cold water over my heart. “Dear, see reason here, he is just a boy.” Persephone argued with her husband. I hated when my parents fought, you would think that being a minor god meant I wouldn’t have these kinds of problems but when your father was Hades ―Lord of the Underworld— you can expect that this was a regular thing that never quite ends well for either side of the argument or in fact the third party that gets involved to stop it which somehow always happens to be me. I sigh and come out of hiding only to see my parents turn to me in shock, my father is not what you would expect, in any case he looked like any other mortal except his eyes glowed a bright gold in colour, and he was a little rough around the edges with his messy brown hair and untasteful style of clothing. Mother on the other hand was quite decent; she always took pride in her appearance, her long black wavy hair that I inherited was silky smooth with flowers braided in it, her pale skin and blood red lips stood out against her black strapless gown. “Reason–” My father questioned. “Why are you up? You have guard duty tomorrow.” “I’m sorry father I couldn’t sleep… your voice echoes loudly through the corridors when you yell at mother.” I lied and faked a yawn though they could hardly tell the difference. “Yes well… I shall try to be more careful with my tone of voice, Persephone.” My father took my mother her hand and forced her to leave with him. I waited a few moments before they left before continuing on to find the voice that had truly awoken me from my sleep. I followed the corridors down to the basement that was constructed from bones, as a kid this room use to always creep me out, i found the cage the sound was coming from. Behind the structure was a boy, his ash blonde hair streaked with dirt and grime, his brown eyes looked hopeless but his expression showed that he was concentrating on something, even chained up and dirty he was still charming to look at. Are you the boy my father speaks of? I ask and he looks up in fear. It was then that i noticed he was chained to the wall unlike the other prisoners who were more trusted. Help me please. He begged and went into a coughing fit. I looked for the keys and opened the cage then went in and tried every key on his chains but none fit. Hold still. I ordered. Don’t move whatever you do. The boy nodded and I forced my nail to shift into its claws, i raked at the chains and the iron broke from the wall freeing the boy, my claws retracted before the boy could see. Thank you. He managed to say. Im Leon... I’m a son of Aphrodite. You can charmspeak. I say finally understanding why his voice had been so alluring. May i ask who you are? He questioned and i hesitated. Reason. I answer and help him up. No more questions, we must get you out of here. I took his hand and lead him out of the basement; I found my way to the second floor corridor before i heard low growls and the demanding voice of my father. What do you mean his gone? He can’t have just disappeared! My father yelled at his followers. Search the castle. This is not good. I mutter under my breath as Leon tensed beside me. I look to Leon formulating a plan in my mind. Stay here don’t move. I let go of his hand and run around the corner in haste. Father! I cry in fake dismay. Father there’s a boy searching the rooms near my bedroom, he has a weapon too i think he stole it from the armoury. I lied acting fearfully. My father nodded. Find your mother and stay with her while i deal with this. My father headed for my room and i went to Leon. Coast is clear. I smirk; i take his hand again and pull him along. Your father is Hades? Leon remarked as we ran. I said no more questions. I growled and then froze when we made it out of the castle. There were at least eight hell hounds guarding this side of the underworld. Why do I never think these things through? I groan. Okay new plan...” We could fight them? Leon suggested. Fight them... With what exactly? If you havent noticed we are a bit empty handed and hell hounds don’t fall for charm speak. i roll my eyes. I weigh out our options and sigh when I realise what I have to do, I tap Leon on the shoulder to get his attention, he had fear written all over his face. “I have a plan, but it’s going to cause you a lot of pain.” He scrunches up his face as though he doesn’t like the sound of it but nodded in agreement anyway. “Please don’t freak out.” I shut my eyes and concentrated hard on shifting, I was born with a cursed power and hated using it but this seemed like the only solution, I could feel Leon’s eyes on me as the change began, my claws came out and my face converted into my other half, I grew shorter and my pale skin became a dull grey, wings sprouted from my back and I let out a growl as I felt the pain in the shift. “You’re a– You can turn into a gargoyle?” Leon said incredulously as he tried to touch my pointed ears. I snapped at him and tried to bite his hand. “Quit it, that’s very annoying.” “So what’s the plan then?” Leon asked impatiently.
