Not a person to whinge but the situation I faced today at work - TopicsExpress

Not a person to whinge but the situation I faced today at work frustrates me immensely. A 2 year old child fell backwards on to concrete today after being hit by a swing, she started vomiting and became drowsy so her mother took her to a GP to make sure she did not have a serious injury. In witnessing the childs state, the GP panicked, and called 000. Along I come, and assess the patients condition to the best of my ability, finding the child may have some concussion and so transport to hospital with spinal immobilisation is required. No panic, no fuss, just a routine kind of job. What I find both interesting and worrying for the general public, is that a professional doctor, earning between $160-220k (mycareer statistics) with years of experience, panicked at a rather calm situation and called upon 2 paramedics earning between a quarter to a third of a GPs wage to take over treatment/care. This begs the question, is the Government funding the wrong areas within our health department?
