Not always certain how I end up in places...but I guess it is true as a life long wanderer, doesnt necessarily mean I am lost. At a health care conference with some major players across the country from various aspects in healthcare. I am serving on a panel for this conference tomorrow and felt so uncertain of my ability to be anything but the only person not wearing business attire. (My nicest clothes are the ones I had made in Africa and yes, that is what is in the suitcase!) Reviewing some of the topics for our panel however gives me hope that there are people, decision makers (besides my friend F F Nicholas Jacobs that has been flying this flag forever!) that want to bring a personalized element to how healthcare is being delivered. Some of our topics for the panel: abundance vs scarcity ( my yoga students will recognize this as one of the Yamas and a favorite topic!) Healthcare vs sick care. The role of the patient as the expert. Balancing evidenced based medicine to personalized patient centered medicine. Happy to be part of this discussion.
