Not making a case out of the UN mayhem. I have a few questions maybe you who are knowledgable in these things could enlighten me. 1) What I dont get is Joyce Bandas lack of understanding of basic protocols of the role and position of a former president. She has dealt with Muluzi as a former president. Muluzi has appeared in many international forums but still he was representing Malawi and never at any point people called him the president. 2) Muluzi has always made deliberate effort to notify or get a consent from a a seating president to be notified of his movements. Why not our madam Joyce Banda. 3) I dont get the role of UN in all this why not notify Malawi Government on the role our former president was going to play in the many forums she was attending or chairing. This is in regard of her being a former president. 4) I cant get the context in which the First Ladies who attended the forum our former president were calling her President? I do know that the likes Bill Clinton, George Bush etc ex American presidents are sometimes called Mr. President. In normal circumstances, official documents and protocol calls for a former President to be addressed as Former President. 5) I cant get why Joyce Banda herself did not take the liberty to correct the audience that she is no longer the president of Malawi?
