Not meant to be offensive to anyone, but I would like to point out few things to people who are raising questions about capabilities of Smriti Irani. 1. Was Dhirubhai Ambani Academically Educated? He founded one of the biggest conglomerate of India. 2. Was Sachin Tendulkar Academically Educated? 3. Was Virender Sehwag Academically Educated? Why I talk about Sachin and Sehwag? You need team-work and leadership skills to guide India and respective IPL teams in matches. You need the ability to identify and recommend captains. It was Sachin who recommended Ganguly, Kumble, Dravid and Dhoni. I have interviewed so many IITians and NITians and students from equivalent colleges, who unfortunately lacked basic communication, confidence and personality needed to crack interviews and to be able to sustain and grow in the competitive corporate world. Academic Education and Practical Education are two different things. While Smriti Irani might not be Academically Degreefied, she indeed possesses excellent managerial, management and organizational skills, which is exactly what is needed to run MHRD. She is a person who served as Waitress in McDonalds to raise her living. She is the same woman who ruled Indian Hearts by her acting especially through her role of Tulsi Virani. She is a self-made woman, who started from the bottom of the ladder at BJP in early 2000s and became Vice-President of BJP. Do you think BJP is stupid? By the way, do you think being a degree holder of Science or Engineering or Law for that matter makes you a better candidate for MHRD? An engineer will not be able to understand complexities of Finance. You may say, he will learn, well... so can Smriti Irani. PS: Remember Kapil Sibbal and his Akash Tablet, which are still flying in Akash somewhere not to be found on earth?
