Not much for Coast in State Budget Last week’s State Budget - TopicsExpress

Not much for Coast in State Budget Last week’s State Budget was all about Western Sydney with billions flowing into a raft of projects at the expense of the Central Coast and shows that the Baird Government has abandoned the region. The roads budget is mostly for continuation of work already started plus 2 new projects at Terrigal and Warnervale (total $20 million), some for planning the widening of Pacific Highway from Narara to Ourimbah and through Wyong, new school buildings at Point Clare, $2.7 for redevelopment of Gosford Hospital!!! and a Renal Dialysis unit at Long Jetty Hospital. And that’s all folks. All other funding attributed to the region is simply smoke and mirrors. The Central Coast Express-Advocate might think its wonderful but CCBR thinks the Central Coast has been abandoned due to ICAC issues with 3 local Liberal Members. A media release from the Minister for the Central Coast was mostly about maintaining such items as maintaining the Central Coast section of the railway line between Sydney and Brisbane, replacing some of our worn out buses and a few other bits and pieces. The State Elections are in March 2015 and Central Coast voters need to tally up just what has been achieved for our Region in the 4 years that this Government has been in power. When they do they will find the answer is “not much”.
