Nothing is more irritating than hearing comments like he is selfish for committing suicide. Robin Williams was NOT! Maybe... MAYBE some who contemplate suicide would come forward to their close ones about their suicidal thoughts if suicide didnt have this label of selfishness and wasnt looked down upon. Even the most selfless and happy looking people go through these kinds of thoughts because, heck, life gets the best of you sometimes because life can be hard! I struggle once in a blue moon and I am sure most of you reading this do too. From someone who struggled with suicidal thoughts I got help young enough that I didnt know how people COULD have labeled me for struggling with just having those thoughts. Is it uncomfortable reading that Im coming forward that I was suicidal at one point? This is the problem here... Most dont feel like they can talk about it and what they go through. Im one random individual that tries to push it until Im heard no matter how awkward in order to make something right. Im open and honest about it so that others feel like they can relate to another human. Those who commit suicide are NOT selfish! I doubt what goes through suicide victims minds is I hate everyone and Im going to do the best for me because I only care about me, so Im taking my own life. absolutely doubt it. Just because you wouldnt commit suicide doesnt mean that youre selfless or better and the brother, sister, friend etc. Of the person next to you ended up committing suicide is selfish. We need to take this label of suicide away and actually dig deep into the actual causes and problems here instead of dismissing what could have been done or should be done. Labels like these are just laziness and excuses to not do anything about it. End rant. -_-
