Nov.15 1994, 1:05pm. That is when my life changed. I started the best job ever! I prayed for this my whole life. On this day nineteen years ago I became a mom! John and I were blessed with a beautiful baby boy! Weighing in at a whopping 2# 14 1/2oz Jared Michael Shilling was an answer to prayer. Since the minute he was born he has been a fighter. What most take for granted, he had to learn just to survive. He has had to overcome the stigma of being smaller,skinnier,and shorter than those his age. But we have always told him, dynamite comes in smaller packages. While other babies were in the upper 90 percentile for growth and height, Jared just kept growing at a steady pace. Slow and steady wins the race. What are those growth charts used for any way?! Highs and lows, struggles, defeats, wins or loses Jared has proven that with patience, grace, love and most importantly God, he has overcome what ever was thrown his way. We are proud of Jared and what he has accomplished so far in these 19 years. We can hardly wait to see what God has in store for him! Jared, as you read this, know that we love you to the moon and back, to infinity and beyond, forever and ever!! Always remember who you are, but most importantly whos you are. Keep God first! Smile!
