Nov. 22, 1963 Pres. John F. Kennedy was assassinated! I was working as a service analyst at Bell Canada in St. Catharines, Ontario, sitting in my office, located next to the Dept. that contained the Central Office equipment, the equipment that numbers had to travel though. I heard a very loud humming noise & opened my office door…..I immediately knew something was terribly wrong! The men said the equipment was going crazy & something major was happening. They listened in on secured lines & we knew before the public that JFK was shot! Totally foreign to our society in those days. We sat together mesmerized waiting for each bit of news. A date that will go down in history! Some have said it was the day America lost her innocence…very sad!
