Dear Ms. Teacher, I would like to encourage you and _________Elementary to support National Epilepsy Awareness Month. One way you can do this is by providing a copy of the Seizure Smart quiz and flyer in each students back pack during the month of November. Did you know that student’s who participated in educational trainings to recognize, treat and understand seizures and epilepsy had an average 12 point increase in safety knowledge compared to non-participants.. Additionally, education promotes tolerance and encourages positive attitudes towards people with epilepsy that sticks with them through high school and on through life. Thank you for all you do to help children learn and succeed. I hope that you make this an annual event which leads to stigma busting of this chronic condition that affects students at this school, throughout Nebraska and the World. Sincerely, Your Name Here
