November 12, 2014: TRAFFIC ALERT - Repair of Norfolk Southern Railroad Crossing Will Require Lane Closure at Delaware Street New Castle - As a public courtesy, the Department of Transportation (DelDOT) wants to inform area residents that Norfolk Southern Railroad will be repairing their railroad crossing on Delaware Street at the intersection of Ferry Cutoff in New Castle beginning at 8 a.m. on Thursday, November 13 and possibly into Friday, November 14. The work will require a lane closure during daylight hours to remove and replace the existing rubber panels with an asphalt surface. Motorists should expect delays and a lane closure in place during working hours. The street is a two lane roadway, the lane restriction will utilize a Stop and Go pattern controlled by flaggers. The project is anticipated to be complete no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, November 14.
