November 17 is National Prematurity day. Im amazed everyday at how much Noah has overcome his prematurity. 10 years ago labeled Failure to Thrive and today weighing in at 109 lbs. Thats a big jump from that 1.9 lb. baby boy that I welcomed 16.5 weeks early in July of 2002. He was 12 1/4 inches long and today is 51 at 12 years old and wearing mens size 9.5 shoes. He became blind in his right eye before he was 7 months old and has had 17 surgeries to correct vision, digestive system, hernias. Hes developed seizures that were life threatening at the age of 2 years old. We spent so many nights in hospitals wherever we were stationed at the time. If Ive learned anything through this experience is that I appreciate great doctors and nurses who have worked hard to save Noah in more ways than one. Most of all Im thankful for learning more about Faith and trusting in God to take the wheel on this road called life. It has been a very difficult time for our family. A very educational time in our lives but we would not trade Noah for anything in the world. He has many talents. He can make you smile and give you hope when you have none. Hes such an amazing kid. Love you Noah, my little preemie.
