November News and Happenings the holidays are approaching... AND joy wellness is gearing up to serve you! So many new things are happening at the studio. The energy in our classes is wonderful, the meditation groups have been inspiring and transformational, and our Reiki share was a beautiful adventure. I am looking forward to full rooms of radiant faces that are as hooked on mind, body, spirit well being as I am. My vision for JOY Wellness all along has been to create a nourishing, nurturing, healing environment by offering practices that bring you home to your heart. For me personally yoga and all that it encompasses has changed my body, my mind, and my spirit. I have found that the deeper I delve into this life, releasing fear and any non-serving conditioning, my heart continues to open, grow, and expand to the point where when I look at the people and the world around me I see love everywhere(maybe not all the time but A LOT). From that Namaste place I have met Shannon Sprague who offers Yin/Restorative private yoga sessions and Thai Yoga Massage. Shannon is a compassionate, poetic teacher who brings her everyday life experiences into the practice. I feel very honored to have her at the studio and encourage all of our readers to book a session with her. Another creative spirit that I recently met is Sheri Sharkey, an amazing artist. As many of you know I love and practice art and have always felt yoga, massage, meditation, and reiki are art forms in and of themselves so the combination of art and wellness makes sense to me. That is why I brought Sheri into the studio to offer some art classes (check them out below). When we open up energetically and align ourselves with the field of unlimited potential a whole world of creativity opens up and to be able to express this creativity from a non confined place is pure meditation! I also had the pleasure of meeting with Danielle Risch a 500 hour yoga teacher and she was on fire! Full of life, energy and wisdom. She is excited to share her knowledge of yoga and movement and I am excited for you to experience her classes. Lets not forget Katie Manzella our high energy, fun loving Zumba teacher, who has been with JOY since we opened back in August. Her classes are SO fun and such a great workout. Dance is another art form that compliments everything we do at the studio. I think Zumba should be on your list of things to try if you havent tried it already. Its a wonderful feeling knowing that all of us at JOY Wellness genuinely care about YOU! Please keep in mind that your health and well being are not a luxury, its an investment in vitality, in creating the life that you truly want mind, body, and spirit. November is about starting to go within as we journey into shorter and colder days. It is a time of cultivating compassion for ourselves by taking care of our body, mind, and spirit. Many of us look forward to the holidays, while a good number of us dread the holidays. How about we approach it all from the middle path a middle path mixed with some extra self love? A place of balance, a place where we can just be in the present moment and take it all in as we breathe in each moment, breathing from our hearts and listening deeply. What kind of yoga do we practice at JOY Wellness? Jennifers Classes are based on the science and philosophy of Integral Yoga. An integrative practice designed to strengthen the body, mind, and spirit. “The goal of Integral Yoga, and the birthright of every individual, is to realize the spiritual unity behind all the diversities in the entire creation and to live harmoniously as members of one universal family. This goal is achieved by maintaining our natural condition of a body of optimum health and strength, senses under total control, a mind well-disciplined, clear and calm, an intellect as sharp as a razor, a will as strong and pliable as steel, a heart full of unconditional love and compassion, an ego as pure as a crystal, and a life filled with Supreme Peace and Joy.” – HH Sri Swami Satchidananda November 17th Reiki Share for everyone 6:15pm-7:45pm guided by Jennifer by donation November 26th 4:45pm-5:45pm Music and Sun Salutations: get your heart pumping and flow to some upbeat music (free to students with class passes or unlimited yoga $10 drop in fee to non students) with Jennifer Thursday, 27 November 2014 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. A Gratitude Practice with Danielle Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate the bounty of autumn’s harvest, as well as the gathering of family, friends, and football.
