Microsoft have listened.There was a certain amount of controversy regarding some of the announcements about the functionality of the Xbox One at E3 last week, with regard to online connections and preowned games. This week, Don Mattrick has made a new announcement regarding a change to these policies.Following your feedback, Microsoft have made the following changes to Xbox One:An internet connection will NOT be required to play offline Xbox One games.Previously it was announced that you had to connect to the internet and "check in" your Xbox One every 24hours in order to play on the console, even if you were only playing offline games.Now, you can play any disc-based game without ever having to connect online, although you will have to be connected for an initial system set-up first. You can even play your downloaded Xbox LIVE games without having to connect to the internet following the initial download.There will be no limitations on the use of preowned gamesMuch like you do with today’s consoles, the Xbox One will now allow any sharing, lending and re-selling of Xbox One games, including the ability to buy preowned games. The previously announced restrictions on the preowned market and licenses will not be in effect.Xbox One games will no longer be region lockedThere will be no regional restrictions on Xbox One games, and they can be played on an Xbox One console all over the world.These changes will be in addition to the previously announced features that will make playing the Xbox One very special, as you will still be able to take advantage of the enormous cloud-based power of playing games online. In the words of Don Mattrick, Microsoft have "listened and we have heard loud and clear from your feedback that you want the best of both worlds".
