***Now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials.*** Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happen to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of CHRISTS sufferings, that when HIS glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. The exhortation ... speaks to you as to sons: My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by HIM. Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. We do not have a HIGH PRIEST who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. For in that HE HIMSELF has suffered, being tempted, HE is able to aid those who are tempted.
