Now it can be told ... Pacmans woes with the BIR have been brewing for quite some time. It was not just highlighted before. Just like any other astute politician, he played it smart and deployed a smokescreen tactic straight from the TRAPOs playbook. After his fantastic fight comeback last Nov. 24, and riding on the love, awe and frenzy of the entire Philippines, he railed against the BIR for the supposed harassment, mind you, in a press conference that his group had set up. It worked! The overall sentiment was in his favor, and the Pambansang Kamao became the underdog and victim, all in one swift strategy that even Freddie Roach or Bob Arum could never imagine or devise. Pinoys all over the world cried with the Pacman, and this move earned him more pogi points than a KO punch to Mayweather would. He even used his mother Dionisia to galvanize, and infuriate further the already upset masang pilipino. (this Aling Dionisia media hysteria is too much. It is already an indictment of the crass and tabloid mentality of the broadcast industry) This is classic Erap para sa mahirap schematic and ploy. The truth is, as excellently outlined by Winnie Monsod, he has been evading his tax dues for so long. The most glaring is trying to pay only P7M in taxes in a banner year, whereas the year before, he paid P142M (which is also considered to be under declared because his tax assessment were at P400M) All this time, we all know Pacman to be a gifted, talented and smart pugilist. Now we can add a not-so humbling trait - SHREWED! In his last fight, Pacquiao failed to knock out Brandon Rios but still won in a very convincing and lopsided fashion. With this move against the BIR and effectively the Pnoy administration, Pacman was able to swing his most lethal punch ever against an unsuspecting opponent. The result? A TKO against the people of the Philippines.
