Now now. Many of you lovely people know me from St Joes and know me from Herts... Id really love you to support the Hertford Childrens Book Festival which as you know I founded and run. Enormous amount of thought and hard work has gone in to cherry picking authors I know that children and their families will enjoy, be entertained and inspired by. This year, weve ensured that EVERY LOCAL SCHOOL benefits from an authors visit (apart from Duncombe, Heath Mount and Richard Hale who turned down our offer!) and we have some fab events at the theatre, Leaf Cafe & Courtyard Arts over the weekend. This Thursday is our Gala evening at the Theatre. Simon Pegg, John Hegley, Amanda Abbington, Alex Scarrow, Jonathan Stroud, Holly Smale, Sue Vincent, Paul Harry Allen - followed by a performance of Private Peaceful. Authors will sign books and therell be complimentary refreshments. Friday - Emma Chichester Clark at the theatre (ages 5+) Saturday - mighty Charlie Higson at the theatre chatting with the kids about Zombie survival plans... (ages 10+) Saturday - Simon Peggs Biggles Workshop (ages 10-14 only) Sunday - David Baddiels first ever event for kids to launch his first ever kids book The Parent Agency (parents dont have children.... children get to choose their parents) (ages 9+) Sunday - Sherlock screening and Q&A with Amanda Abbington & Martin Freeman (ages 12+) Sunday - Amanda Abbington storytime/ Julian Donaldson workshop (ages 6+) I could really do with your support, guys.
