Now that rescue dog Jake is feeling good, all healed of his mange, - TopicsExpress

Now that rescue dog Jake is feeling good, all healed of his mange, vaccinated, microchipped and is in the first step of heartworm treatment, Im learning that he thinks hes *somebody*! Hes been great for the last month and a half but when one of my girls came in season, things changed. Jake wants to be top dog here and will growl and posture at the boys who generally ignore him... until this week. Jake has been constantly pushing my three intact boys and another visiting this week (the four all get along marvelously!) As a result, two of my boys now have pierced ears and Jake has been flipped on his back by them in return, but he still comes back for more. For everyones safety, he has lost house privileges and is now back in the kennel and only gets supervised play time with the girls or one on one ball time in the front yard! Hes extremely smart, ball driven, and athletic. Hed be great in a home with a large yard or with a runner, and a female or submissive male doggy companion. Hes housebroken and crate trained but barks and has separation anxiety when crated alone (he stayed with the family that intended to adopt him while I was in London and scratched his nose raw trying to get out of the crate). Id love to find a great home for him, but also need to be completely honest about his needs. Im not asking for any adoption fee and will continue to pay for his medical needs (heartworm and neutering) but would love to find that perfect home for him soon!!! See his freedom ride picture and post below and how much better he looks now!
