Now that the moon-beef is over I would like to make an implorement/petition to all: Ramadan is a month of acceptance; acceptance of our own individual faults; acceptance of other peoples suffering; acceptance of Gods mercy and clemency. Please, any moment that you are idle, any moment that you feel you have achieved an impregnable relationship with the Divine-- keep the people of Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Afghanistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and ANY other place that you know our people are suffering. Whether this moment is before youre breaking your fast, during the short breaks of Taraweeh, pre-suhoor-- remember that they are people who would give anything to be in your shoes just for a day. You dont even have to utter it with your tongue, just utter it with your heart. Pray for their suffering to end, pray for the travesties of justice to cease, pray for the oppressed inmates to be released, pray for the famished and parched to receive viands, pray for peoples humanity to return, pray for OUR humanity to return. Also, a special shout-out to the Hafizes to make a duah after the end of every taraweeh in the verbal Duah-- you never know whose Ameen could change millions of lives as Mufti Mudassir so grandiloquently states. Ramadan Mubarak, and peace to yall.
