Now that the seasonal electoral farce is over, we can all get back - TopicsExpress

Now that the seasonal electoral farce is over, we can all get back to a place where we remember that we are going to have to create a new kind of political and cultural leadership in this country like much of the rest of the world is trying to do. There is however no point in trying to raise this point during the elections, as most people are so drunk on the lies of this spectacle that they cannot bear to contemplate the idea that the struggle for deep democracy is torturous, and difficult, and protractedly contentious. We in the west are so arrogant we cant face the fact that we are almost completely taken in by a mob of high tech charlatans and poseurs. That is actually too generous a description. We are led by technologically endowed barbarians. We have learned to ignore our better thinking. We have forgotten that the needful task of any resistance is learning how to make a way out of no way. For the most part, we would rather cling to established forms and familiar faces. This is particularly true of much of what calls itself the anti-authoritarian or anti grand narrative and post modern left in this country, which at this point is at best is a pale echo of ideas and practice generated by the creative malcontents and cultural revolutionaries of the early civil rights and labor movements. There is a terribly difficult tightrope walk ahead in which we must learn to selectively build and cull from the whole of humanitys post capitalist revolutionary efforts- including the so- called Stalinist periods. There will be no building of foundations in mid-air or magic schematics that help us avoid human error. And all efforts to impose such schematics will do nothing but re-create the authoritarian terrors that the so-called anti-authoritarians are allegedly so concerned about. Anyone who has witnessed the painful gyrations of the Obama cult in the last five years knows this to be true. Unfortunately for we in the United States and much of the rest of the world, the biosphere is not going to wait forever for us to break decisively with the wretched political forms imposed by the priests of the commodity fetish and the warlords of imperium. And humanity will not wait for us to grow into our better selves. Other parts of the world have moved on ahead, making a way out of no way. We are seeing this effort in Burkina Faso in West Africa this week, in previous years we saw indicators in Tunisia, Egypt, Spain, Ireland, even here in the u. S. When Occupy was at its high ebb before it lost its collective mind and retreated into the Democratic Party. Stakes is high, said some hip hop prophets not so long ago. Indeed they is. Hopefully at some very soon point we in the so-called developed world will remember such. Keep or reject the promise of the revolutionary subject, its needful tasks assert themselves daily. All of nature demands our attention. Stakes is high.
