Now the final Major of the year is over.... It’s time to play some serious golf. We have a number of key events over the coming weeks. Unbelievably, we’ve only two months left until the end of the Summer season but at least we’ve had a Summer this year. First up is the McLeods Glaziers Gents Invitational Texas Scramble, this Saturday 17th August. There’s a £12 entry fee for a team of 4 although you can play with less if need be, it just reduces your chances of winning. If you’ve never played a Texas Scramble, it’s a great format and a super way to get to know your team mates and see parts of the course you’ve never travelled to before. The template is already up on the On Line Booking System. There is no Gents Medal on Saturday. On Sunday 18th August we have the prestigious Captain v Lady Captain match – a four ball / better ball format played with a shotgun start off the Medal tees (meet 9am). If you feel like a Sunday morning game and the chance to represent your gender, sign up in the Pavilion (Gents) or let Trina know (Ladies). We need 18 per team. This is followed by the Invitational Mixed Texas Scramble on Saturday 31st. The same format as the McLeods but with a minimum of one Lady per team. No all male teams will be permitted to play and dressing up in drag will not fool anyone. The template is already up. Any Gents wishing to play, put your names in. Trina has a list of Ladies willing to play – she will find you a Lady!! Both Invitational events give you the chance to bring a guest or two to play. So, phone a friend and get booking.
