Numbers Talk. They do to me, anyway. Many sets of numbers appear in my life regularly and with precision. Many of them have become passwords and codes and locks and so on. I shall post NONE of them here BUT the two that rule the roost are twin sisters..... (twins again) 7:31 (am or pm) and 7:32 (am or pm). They are TOO important to use as passwords so I dont mind telling you about them. My body clock was set very early in life... 7am exactly. I literally cannot sleep past 7am. Dad woke up at 5, Mom was making breakfast at 6:45 (toast and cigarettes with coffee) and I slapped a vinyl record on my little Panasonic around 6:59 as I dreaded the coming day. Around the age of 8 I started to notice the clock and keep track of my schedule. Everytime, and I mean EVERYTIME I would remember to look at the clock it was 7:31 or 7:32. Naturally the day starred numbers like (clock style) 10:05, 12:00 and 3:01 but then nothing again until evening... back at dinner and oh, hello 7:31. You know that Palm Reader out on Main Street here in Ann Arbor? The two girls and their mom? In that little house with the neon sign? I think theyre Estonian, not kidding... (Nicole Ozanich its Tea Time in Estonia! Keep Your Fork, Theres Pie - inside joke) anyway I asked them about Numerolgy (this was a number of years ago) and another friend of a friend who studies Numerology and they all agree... 731 and 732 respectively reach (upon adding) 11 (unending levels of enlightenment, sometimes learning the same lessons over and over like facing a miorror into a mirror ~ sound familiar, self?) and 12 (nearing a completed cycle of experience through unending study and alertness to signs, like um... now) and 731732 of course bring us to 23 (adaptation and change) which reduces (addes up to) of course 5. Or, as I like to call her, 5ive. Yes, 5 is female. 5 (rebellious, mercurial, always in need of laughter to survive) has been my favorite number since I discovered my favorite color, Blue or more to the point, see-through plastic blue. 5, within Numerology, is represented by blue. Which leads me to Blue Limousine, a song written by Prince and performed, albeit poorly and without irony by Brenda Bennet and the ladies of Apollonia 6. Stay with me. When I was 14, this song was a water-shed moment for my little synthy-wispy-white-boy-so-desperately-wants-to-be-funky self. After years of 7:31 and 7:32 poking me in the back, they finally appear in song to my shock, the lyrics referenced my secret! Well, that was IT. My point is, when I see 7:31 or 7:32 I say Hey GURL! and acknowledge them. Signs and wonders and little things pointing us on the brick road of our lives, yellow or not, should be given the Townie Nod, you know? I sound bananas. Time? 7:54 (no relation) and I began this missive to the masses at 7:31 when I said Hi Seventhirtyone! over my coffee and thought, Ima tell it. So know you now.... numbers arent JUST sums. Theyre teachers. Little angels. Alphabet letters have gender too but thats another night.
