Nutrition & training is very much a grey area, & without exception will require to some degree of a "trial & error" period. Often this is neglected with a vast number of one size fits all protocols being used. Therefore trial & error, as well as constant tracking and then tweaking is extremely important to help you reach your desired out come. An example would be calculating caloric needs, to quote Alan Aragon regarding this: "All formulas are merely ball park starting points that must be put to trial and adjusted according to individual response. At best, numbers derived from these predictive equations are hypothetical. They must ultimately pass the reality test." In this article, I discuss the importance of this forgotten art "Trial & error".
