O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? Thanks - TopicsExpress

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? Thanks be unto God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Cor. 15:55-57.) O death, where Is thy sting? O grave, thy victory? Down into death the Saviour went, Threw back its gates; the tomb He rent; The power of death and hell are spent, He is the victory; He holds the keys of death and hell, He shattered all their gloom and spell, In face of death, all things are well, He is the victory. There is no sting in death, but sin, In grave, no victory; Why shouldst thou now such troubles know? He has for thee a heart aglow, Where joys eternal overflow, He is thy victory; So, unto Him thy troubles bring, And, on to Him thy sorrows fling; The Lord can cause thy heart to sing, He gives thee victory. HOW we should joy and rejoice in the Lord. He has turned our enemy into a potential friend. The gate, that seemed about to usher us into the grip of gloom and dark despair, has become the gate that leads us into the life and light of heaven forevermore. Death to the believer becomes no more than the passage-way into the glory-land. Death may close our eyes in sleep, and the grave may grip our bodies in its cold embrace; however, neither death, nor the grave, can keep our spirits from going to be at home with the Lord; nor, can the grave hold our bodies against the resurrection call of Christ. Death immediately liberates our spirits. Our dead are blest, in Him they rest Beyond all pain and care; No tear, no sigh, no pain, no cry, Can touch their spirits there; In safe retreat, in joy replete, They dwell in peace at home; They always wait, at heavens gate, The hour when we shall come.
