OBEDIENCE 24/7 Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it aloud to the people. Again they all responded, “We will do everything the lord has commanded. We will obey.” Exodus 24:7 NLT It should not be surprising that Almighty God,omniscient as He is and through divine inspiration placed a scripture about obedience in the bible listed in a verse called 24:7. ...as in twenty four hours a day,seven days a week. One definition of the word obedience is ; a sphere of jurisdiction. Those who are obedient to God in all their ways are under His divine jurisdiction,or authority. How do we become obedient to God,you ask? In John 15:9,Jesus says; As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. Remain in His love...how? In John 14:24,our Lord answers that question by adding; He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me... What are the commandments I must follow to reman in His love,and thereby become obedient? The answer is found in Matthew 22:37 where Jesus says; You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. There you have it. Obedience is formed in ones desire to follow all of Gods commandments...which begins with loving God above all things. ...and then your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:39).
