OCTOBER CHALLENGE!!! Two parts! One nutritional challenge and one physical! Nutritional: you must give up an unhealthy food or drink (or both) for the entire month (STATE IT BELOW IN COMMENTS....ACCOUNTABILITY!!!) Physical: October is the 1,000 Earth Down Challenge! Every day from October 1 to October 30, you will complete 32 push-ups (earth downs)! On October 31st, you will complete 40! By the end of the month, you will have conquered 1,000 push-ups!!! Now stop wincing...Remember how you thought about a 5 minute wall squat on September 1?? Well, WHO ACCOMPLISHED THAT ON SEPTEMBER 30???? YOU DID!!! The push-up is one of, if not THE best exercise you can do because it activates and tones SEVERAL muscle groups in one exercise! Push-ups build chest, shoulders, arms and back muscles as well as strengthen your core! Below is a drawing for proper push-up form. You may do them in sets instead of knocking all of them out at once (so 2 sets of 10 and 1 set of 12). You may also do them on your knees...HOWEVER...My request (as I also ask of my fitness group) is that you do as many as you can on your toes EACH and EVERY day and then drop down to your knees! By the end of the month you will not only have a HUGE amount of push-ups under your belt, you will be surprised at how many you will be able to do on your toes IF you do as I stated above (start on toes then drop to knees)!!! WHOS READY??????????
