OH UYO! ....MY TAKE: Few Months ago,in a public occasion,My Digital Governor while making speech exclaimed OH UYO and so many people thought the Man did wrong in saying that during his speech at the memorial service for slain heroes at Ibom Hall Grounds. I have decided to revisit that and make people to understand why our Pragmatic and Charismatic Governor made that speech. Obong Dr.Sir.Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio(CON) was very much right in exclaiming OH UYO...I heard someone asked,Chief Udoima,Why are you saying this?The Truth be told for once and that is what i will be doing in a few minutes since sleep has eluded me and it has been raining cat and mouse since yesterday and my room is LEAKING and as such,i need to be awake so as to mop the floor. Reasons He said so are: 1.UYO has always been in the forefront of doing things and has always stood out as No 1 and second to NONE... 2.UYO is a place where as a child He used to hear and had always longed to visit and build a house when he grew up(Thank God his dreams has been achieved) 3.UYO that used to boost of great Political Icons like the Late Obong Effiong Okon Eyo(Eyo Uyo), The Obong Ikpaisong Ibibio ye ANNANG,whose shoe Politically has not been matched by anybody till tomorrow,Obong Nyong Essien,People like Obong Hon Dr Okokon Okon Etuk(EMCO),Obong Cyril Ekiko who when they were not present in the State House in their days,then the House wont be in session... 4.UYO that has a living LEGEND in the person of Ntisiong Sebastain Umoren who bestrode the Political arena as a Colossus and is still alive and kicking strong at over 100years on earth 5.UYO that produced Entrepreneurs and Politicians like the Late Obong Asuquo Udo Utuk,Prince Okon Udo Utuk,Obong Dr Dominic Udo Utuk(The Utuks),Obong Jimmy Okon Etuk(Joesco),Obong Ufia Akpan Ekanem(Raleigh),Obong Okon Udoima(New Plan Hotel),Obong Henshaw Inim,Obong James Orok(Alhaji Babayaro) to mention but a few.. 6. UYO that used to host the IBIBIO UNION Meeting that when they arosed,Delegates were sent to the UK and Lagos to lobby for a State creation for the minorities.. 7.UYO that had an OKUKU whoses contemporaries are the likes of The Emir of Kano,Sultan of Sokoto,Oni of Ife etc Ladies and Gentlemen, The Governor was surprised that Uyo that boosted of the above in the past has now become a Place that People who claim to lead them cant stand out to be bold in telling the truth and giving their people effective representation.. He was suprised that Uyo people can only boost of a functional Local Government Chairman in person of Otuekong Ekerette Ekpenyong who is really striving hard and alone to move Uyo Forward..(dont forget that we have a sleeping House of Assembly member that doesnt know his left from right and also a Commissioner representing Uyo people who is fighting the Chairman for his own personal gains. UYO that I have refused to look at because they didnt support my 2nd term ambition and as such I decide to punish them by refusing to renovate their Technical School at Ewet but built a nice Fence so you cant see the decay of the school from the main road except you go inside the School premises,Removed their Timber market from Uruan Street and has refused building them a Primary School on that location. The Governor was surprised that after all the avenues for generating revenue and employment to Uyo had been taken away from them,the Good people of Uyo are still friendly,accomodative and prosperious...Mind you, Uyo does not have a Market again( major source of revenue),Motor Park(Major Source of Revenue),Tickets that were always been sold to Keke Operators had been collected from them and given to MR GODWIN NTUKUDEH(Sorry Sir,I cant adress you as Akparawa,you are above 50 years of age so why should i address you as Akparawa?) and his Ministry has been collecting the money and raking in millions of naira daily and yet cannot patch Nsentip Street so as to make it accessible for the motorist especially the Keke Riders.. Why wouldnt the Governor be surprised? #tobecontinued#
