OK - so it is really true that you can learn something new every day. Today, I baked a cake for gathering I am attending this evening. It is a spice cake and I wanted some kind of brown sugar frosting. So after checking the internet, I kind of improvised - a packet of dream whip - melted butter and brown sugar mixed for a caramel tasting frosting. then I added powdered sugar - well, I ran out of powdered sugar and my housemade from Sri Lanka said - not to worry Mama, I can make . She took granulated sugar and put it in a samll attachment for the blender and powdered the granulated sugar - what a great trick. Thought I would pass it on.
