Dr Homer Skinner started getting his patients up and walking in the 1940s at MARINE HOSP. Did you have Epidural when you had your babies ? Dr Waldo Edwards and Dr. Joseph Shanaphy started that in the late 40;s at MARINE HOSP. Heaven forbid you should have had Venereal Diseases and not had to have years of treatment. The Penicillin cures were discovered by the VDRL Scientists at MARINE HOSP. Many of Staten Islands best Doctors trained there and stayed on S.I. It was NOT a Military hospital but did treat many military families on Staten Island. I think it is a shame and a waste of money that only Ghosthunters seem to appreciate those beautiful buildings and all its history.
