OK! HERES MY TAKE ON COMMON CORE ~ Not to pat myself on the back but...Ive got an IQ far above 140. For me, thats not as important as common sense and my ability to reason. A good friend of mine does PhD-level work in analytical chemistry and neither he nor I can---for the life of us---figure out what the hell this math lesson is attempting to teach. But we both agree that Common Core is all about making children incredibly stupid. No doubt about it! Now, with a nation that has at least a 50% functional illiteracy rate---the inability to read and follow the instructions of the recipe on a box of brownie mix---do we really need to swell the ranks of The Ignorant and The Stupid in this country? I rest my case...you know what I mean?
