OK OK I GIVE IN !!!! On a serious note, all joking aside, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE Tina Smith. I remember the first time we ever met all those years ago in The Cock Inn at Bilston, she was work mates with my cousin Karen Foster, they both worked at Lucy Baths Shop in St Annes Road, if i remember right arr Karen told her I was trouble and to stay away from me, but fair play she introduced us and we chatted, as ya do, even though she was a bit shy there was just enough `rebel` in her, which i found a turn on lol, i think Risky Business with Wayne Boon Jones was playing that night. We swapped numbers, as ya did back then avin no mobile fones, in those days kids woman carried PENS & PAPER in their handbags incase they `pulled` lol, anyway we agreed to meet up ferra drink the following Thursday night. She wrote her number on the inside lid of me fag packet but like a muppet i got rat arsed and threw it away when it was empty. I spent all week scouring the phonebook lookin for `Robottom` in thorne road, i rang every number in that book and had no joy, suffice to say we never met up that thursday night. On the friday we bumped into eachother at JB`s JCT 10, her face was like thunder and she gave me a rite ear`ole full, MY BAD i said, i genuinely lost ya number, i told her id`e tried every `Robottom` in the phonebook i could find to contact her, then she said `My Names RAYBOULD not ROBOTTOM !`, what a TOOL i felt lol. Anyway arr Karen roasted me over it saying id`e upset her etc but i managed to convince her and apologised. I spent that night gettin her wild drunk on quadruple brandys and coke and she spent the night sat on me lap suckin me face off... AHH THE GOOD OLE DAYS. Thing is, even back then in the late 80`s i knew i was gonna marry this young girl and we`d have 2 kids who we would call Danny Smith and Laura Lizzie Smith, can`t explain it, i just knew, about 6 months later we were engaged. Yes we had our ups & downs, but somehow we always managed to stick together and remember why we got together in the first place, i like to think that we both are the people we are because of eachother, we would have been totally different people now had we not met all those years ago. The point is, without her in my life i wouldn`t have 2 of the nicest well mannered, considerate and honest children going, im a lucky bloke, and i know it, im reminded of it everyday when i see her with my kids laughing and joking and doing all she can for them `within reason`. For me she really is the worlds best mother coz im seeing it from a Dad`s point of view and there`s no one in this world i would rather have as a mother to my children.
