OK never afraid to stick my neck on the block. When I was at Machu Picchu I felt that the mountain at the back of the complex had been carved into a face by the first people who settled in that location and I think it is highly probable that this race pre dated the Inca by tens and possibly hundreds of thousands of years. I also feel that this is evident at lots of other locations in Peru and indeed around the world. As I stated in my blog whilst over there, I think this part of our history has been hidden or erased, by predominantly the catholic religion. Well it appears Im not the only one who thinks this. See below an artist’s impression of what they believe the mountain may have looked like. You have to imagine the mountain after THOUSANDS of years of erosion leading to its current condition. This is, in my opinion, only the tip of the iceberg of the evidence that supports this theory at Machu Picchu alone.
