OK.. one last really long post, then I will shut up for today (maybe!) Make sure you are taking advantage of all your ways to get deals that you have the time for! Yes, it takes time, so at a certain point you just have to say no thanks!. Here are my best ways that I am using right now: (1) Stock up on sunday papers and sorting coupons. I hate to have someone have to deliver them on sunday, so instead I run to Walmart on saturday morning, and grab 3 of their paper deals. It is $3 for one Deseret News and one Tribune early edition, with all the adds and coupons. So I spend $9/week on papers. That way I have tons of coupons (6 of each) so I can have plenty to stock up on stuff (after these past 2 weeks, I have PLENTY of laundry soap! oy! wont be buying that for awhile!) The only problem there is sorting and keeping track. I have tried a few methods, and found my best is to have a binder or expandable folder where I just put the ENTIRE coupon insert, and have a paper that keeps track of which insert is in which slot. Almost all the references to coupons references what day they came out, so I just open to that slot, and voila! it is there! When I see a high value printable that I cant match to a sale, I simply print it, and save it in a pouch with the letter of the brand, then I can flip through those at the store (although some letters are getting kinda big! oy! might need to rethink this one!) I did just invest in an awesome IPhone app called Coupon2. It makes it so much nicer! When I get coupons, I simply scan the barcode and it enters all the info automatically (expiration, source, value, product).. then I can search for whatever in that! It is a bit pricy ($12 in IPhone app store), but is saving me a ton of headache! I can also add my own notes, so if I dont have it in an insert, I can mark how I filed it. It also sends a notification when my coupon is about to expire, so I can look for deals, or ignore it, or pull it out and toss it! (2) Bloggers- Some bloggers spend more time on jewelry/toys/clothes and other stuff, which I am sure some people love. Personally I dont care for them. I do have a few, such as consumerqueen that I LOVE and get so many good deals from! But I dont mind checking out others! ( Mary Babcock had some great ideas I was going to look at this weekend! ). Find some, follow them on FB and mark them as some of your favs so all their posts show up in your news feed! (3) Mobile apps/Store mobile coupons- Target has a couple awesome apps! The simple target app has great mobile coupons, then there is cartwheel, and then txt mobile coupons. The funny thing is, they often times have the same items on multiple deals! So I can have a $2 coupon in the target app, then add a 10% off from cartwheel then add a manufacturers coupon, and they stack great! Smiths also has wonderful mobile coupons you can add from their app, and every Friday has a free item (just go to coupons, and search free, and it should come up as one of the things.. just flip through and figure out which one is totally free!) Their free Friday is good for about 2 or 3 weeks, so I just save it till I am at the store (you need to download it on Friday, but then it stays on your card), then search through free and get all my free items! The sad part about the smiths mobile coupons is they DO NOT stack with manufacturers coupons. :( Oh well! CVS has printable coupons every time you go to the store, and these do stack with manufacturers. Walgreens has coupons in the add, as well as seasonal coupon books in the store. They also have a lot of save $ on your next trip printouts which give you a coupon for a certain value for anything in the store! (just make sure you write it down so you dont forget to use it!) (4) New scan your receipt apps. Ok.. these are fairly new, so I avoided them at first, but so far I LOVE them! The ones I am using are now: Ibotta (makes ya do little things like watch video adds, or look at a recipe.. ok.. or say you look at a recipe, I never actually read them!), SavingStar, and Checkout51. All of these you buy certain things, take a pic of your receipt (savingstar is linked to certain store cards too preventing you from needing to take a picture, like smiths/cvs/walgreens). Checkout51 seems to have a lot of generic deals (any type of bagged salads, Milk, Etc) . You can double dip with these too! Yesterday I bought a gallon of milk, scanned it in to ibotta, which was offering $1 rebate, then scanned it into Checkout51 which was offering $.50 rebate. With Ibotta, you need $5 min to cash out, then you can have it put into your paypal, or Venmo acct (right now if you are new to venom, they give you an extra $3 for your first payout! Venmo then turns around and deposits the $$ to your bank!) Savingstar you get gift cards for.. and I will need to look up who through. I know amazon was an offer, and I think Walmart and target.. but will need to double check. They can be cashed out at $5. Checkout51 you need $20 to cashout, so a higher threshold, that I havent hit yet. So more info later! (5) Alternate stores: For produce I use BountifulBaskets and love them! So much cheeper! You dont get much say in what you get, but I actually think that makes it more fun! Find a buddy to do it with if possible! Then only one of you needs to do the Thursday night or Saturday morning run there, and you can save on the processing fee (1.50/week) by combining orders, and possibly splitting some of the big items, like 25 lbs of peaches! For meat I use zayconfoods
