OK people, I just spent over 2 hours checking my news feed to find out everything that has been going on for the past 2 weeks while away. Now lets see how many people acknowledge reading our adventures. So at the least, like the post so I know who really reads what I put out there. We just got back from a wonderful cruise to celebrate our 35 year Anniversary. We ususally go to the the Carribbean for a week but since this was such a momentous occasion we did something different. We flew to Athens for 2 nights then joined Azamara Quest Cruise ship to the following ports- of -call: From Athens (Piraeus) Greece to Ephesus (Kusadasi) Turkey, Mykonos, Greece, Santorini Greece, Chania, Crete, Greece, Katakolon, Greece, Kotor, Montenegro, Then we were suppose to dock @ Dubrovnik, Croatia but were not able as we had a squall come by with 60-90 mph winds and would be un-safe to dock so we proceded to Venice, Italy where we spent 1 night on the boat and one night at the Monaco Hotel On the Grand Canal. Of course lots of sight seeing and an awesome ride in the Gondola. We stayed Right next door to the world famous Harrys Bar owned by Harry Cipriani who also owns the Cipriani hotel & Castle where George Clooneys wedding was to take place. Thank God though we left before all the entourage arrived there. I think Venice is the Craziest busy place we have ever been. Its like leaving a major event with shoulder to shoulder people and a lot of alley ways of SHOPS GALORE! We had a wonderful time cruising the Adriatic Sea, and mostly the Meditterean Sea. Awesome weather, Great service, Food Galore. Lots of Touring and even a couple of trips to beaches. In Mykonos we went to Platis Gialos beach just 5 km to the south of Chora where we docked. In Crete, we went to Stavros beach, where Zorba the Greek was filmed, At the Beach we found a group of servicemen from US Navy, stationed @ Souda Bay having an afternoon MWR picnic celebrating the end of the classes. All in All it was a Great trip, but we are sure glad after travelling 24 hours straight to finally be home in the good ole USA! Pictures will follow at some point. Keep posted.
