OK, some of you will know me others not. My first child was stolen in 1967 from the Newcastle Western Suburbs Maternity hospital. I found Bradley in 1991 and he died in 1995. I believe from the stilboestrol injection given to me to dry up my milk, whilst he was being born:( He died of cancer. In 1972, May the second, I gave birth to my 2nd child in that same hospital approximately 7.30 pm. I was then married but my childs records state first babe for adoption on them. When my child was born it was whisked out of the room fully covered in a bunny rug and I did not see them that night. Next morning I was presented with a baby boy in an ambulance outside of the hospital and asked to baptise him as he probably would not survive the trip to Sydney. He did and I called him Paul. He only lived 7 weeks. I have reason to believe he may have been a rapid adoption that night with the doctors wife who was in the room next to me. I sought his records and they have been crossed out and items changed. What I was hoping to find out is if anyone knows a Mum or child born that night or thereabouts who gave birth in that particular hospital. The mum may never know her baby was swapped either and there is no legal record of an adoption for this child. Thanks for any help.
