OK, time for the mighty mo review of Something Wicked. Very good movie, good cinematography, well cast, based on true events (scary in itself). Fast paced, grabs your curiosity immediately and holds it...I love movies that I cant tell where they are going next and this movie lived up to that. Who is the Good guy, Bad guy, Good Girl, Bad girl, etc...you cant be sure unless you have a) written the screenplay b) directed the movie or c) you have the foreknowledge of a sage like Edgar Cayce. Brittany Murphy did an excellent job and I can see that losing her big screen presents is a sad loss...she could have gone far and Id have to call her better than a B+ to at least a very solid A- actor. She had no fear of looking scary, but when it was time for her character to look frightening...she pulled it off well, then in her next seen she was just beautiful...a chameleon of a performer. Shantel Vansanten, and James Patrick Stewart all performed very well. This is the second movie Ive worked on with the amazingly believable Robert Blanche and he delivers again...no ego, just character driven. I will see it again for sure and probably buy the DVD when it comes out. Kudos to Chambers Productions, this was a tough shoot to begin with and then having your star pass away before editing had barely started must have been quite a blow. They handled it perfectly, went the extra mile to honor Brittany and stay true to the script. I wouldnt take little kids to see this movie but the effects, lighting, set design etc were all fantastic. When I got to the theater the 7:10 showing had sold out and had a looong line of more people who wanted to see it, so they bumped an A movie and added another showing at 7:25, something Ive never seen a theater do before. Congrats to all who worked on this movie. Im honored that casting found me a spot, this may go cult classic. Go See It.
