So .... if I dont have Scotiabank to cash a cheque that someone wrote out to me and I dont have an account, I have to pay a charge of $ 5.00 brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr???? True talk .... gave them a mouthful today about that.... not because of that really but because of the very young, unprofessional, smirkyfaced young teller with the condescending facial expression when I rightfully expressed my shock, horror and disbelief about that new charge Their policy is there policy no matter how ridiculous .... but DO NOT ever be rude to ANY customer who has taken the time to visit the bank and stand in front face to face ... not cool. Young girls smile was quickly wiped off today when I gave a few choice words. Customers of mine ... I value you all greatly .... However, I say ... if you have a Scotiabank cheque book and you want people to accept those from you, YOU need to voice as a customer of Scotiabank because WE VENDORS, if we refuse, because of the hassle we get liaising with your bank that choose to tief us, youre the one inconvenienced. If you want me to accept your cheques and dont like this ... put yourselves in my shoes ... would you like it if I told you that your cheque for $ 80.00 per hat should be made out to $ 85.00 .... I think not ..... so .... speak up, let your bank know this. Not only that ... to cash a cheque, if you dont have an account with them, you are asked to write full name and telephone number at the back of it ....................... I, for very good security reasons, REFUSED ....................... EFF away with them. p.s. I did get the cheque cashed despite my refusal to put any of my personal information at the back (it was a cheque written by someone TO me ... it was MY money and I was NOT leaving the bank without it) ... I did pay them the $ 5.00 cause I am cool like that .... but I told them, they need to let people know this ... *pointing to the long line* and said in that line theres a person who needs that $ 5.00 to travel home and being penalized for not having an account with them to be charged a hefty service charge every month The bandits DONT always have guns.
