Advice Issued For: Halls Gap, Dadswells Bridge, Wartook Fire Origin: Halls Gap, Dadswells Bridge, Wartook Incident Name: Issued: 20/01/14 10:05 AM This is an updated Advice message issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Halls Gap, Dadswells Bridge, Wartook and surrounding communities. Firefighters have stopped the spread of the bushfire in Halls Gap, Dadswells Bridge, Wartook and surrounding areas. Fire activity has subsided. The bushfire is not yet under control, so you should monitor conditions and decide what you will do if the situation changes. You are no longer under any immediate threat. Containment lines to the south of the fire area are now complete. Further burning works via aerial ignition in the Rose Creek road area are planned today to further strengthen containment lines. Smoke will be visible from nearby communities and roads. The Grampians National Park will re-open today at 12.00pm. Some roads near the fire area remain closed. Check VicRoads website for up to date information. A community meetingwill be held at 12.00pm at the Laharum Hall, Northern Grampians Road. A Community Information Point is operating from the Horsham SeniorCitizens Centre, Roberts Avenue. A Recovery Centre isoperating in Stawell at Grampians Community Health, 8 Patrick Street. Thiscentre is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. GWM Water has asked Halls Gap residents to limit use of water to allowthe treatment plant to regain capacity. Bottled water supplies are available atHalls Gap Service Station and Pomonal General Store. The next update is expected by 20/01/14 3:00 PM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: If you have time, check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. Continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. Contact a family member or friend to tell them what you plan to do now. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024.
