OMG!!! Theres a terrible TYPHOON in the Western Pacific!! Winds are at SUPERSONIC Velocity!!!! (165MPH is the Liberal equivalent of Supersonic. Of course, worse winds were recorded during Typhoon Tip when I was stationed on Guam. It actually woke me up as the howling winds shrieked through our window shutters) Now the Puffy Lips have all the evidence they need to foist their Global Warming Authority over our ignorant, teeming masses. It seems our media has a rather selective memory. They harp on a relatively moderate typhoon as being the worst in history when it is just a moderate typhoon. I remember having to work one night during one of these storms. We Flew the weather observer out to a rain gauge at the bottom of an embankment outside our building. Holding a rope tied to the observer, we pushed him out the door, and he floated down the slope until he reached said gizmo. We then felt two tugs on the rope, which was the signal to allow slack on the line. The observer flopped on the ramp, then stood up to take the rain measurements. When he was done, wed reel him in. The winds were terrible, and it took a lot of elbow grease to haul those young men up that hill. Theyre probably not doing this anymore, but I can say with some knowledge that Typhoons get pretty windy.
