ON EL-RUFAI: Death is an inevitable end of every human, how it would come or when none of us know but come sure as death itself it would come. None of us asked to come here but we are here and die none of us wants to but we would in between both we are filling in the gaps. All we have to do in between is to try to be the best humans that we can possibly be. I do not know El-Rufai in person and I am not looking forward to knowing him either that is because he is not someone I look up to or admire in any way. Having said so I still can’t deride him because he may be a good person different from his political or public personae that part of him that we all see and some of us hate is because he may also be a malcontent person they all are once they lose all forms of relevance. I hate how he talks though especially when he points accusing fingers at others when he is not the sinless himself. I have come to realized that public officials are experts in using periphrasis and this can remove every form of scintilla from them. I still cannot believe the man once said when he was the Minister of FCT that if one does not earn up to one hundred thousand Naira in a month such a person had no business living in Abuja. SMDH! Maybe it was a tongue-in-cheek statement I don’t know but whichever way one looks at it it’s so nauseating a statement coming from an accidental civil servant. If it was not accidental he may not rightly have been a civil servant to have stolen so much to live happily and opulently in our Federal capital. Making the place an elitist arena for selected few left a very bad taste still in my mouth. That is why I regard him as some hobgoblin and a nitwit with all the nonsense that he pukes out of his mouth these are what culminates to become the very Achilles heel of his political career.. Now hear me out all that aside El-Rufai may be an annoying public official or politician let us separate that from his person and a human. The man has had a very bad run of hoodoo may be from his kismet, karma or retributive justice which is a very annoying part of natural justice I do not know though I believe in these things but I am not in a position to judge him. First his young daughter mysteriously slumped and died in his home in UK, about a year ago he lost a younger brother in an auto crash and now a young son in another auto crash. I think it is wrong for folks to deride him that he is paying for his sins none of us know these things. We are all sinners if you believe in sins but I don’t because i am irreligious but please folks let us stop it for it is not cool. Bad things also happen to good people. El-Rufai does not deserve to be burying his young children and younger brother and at a time like this may be we should be cautious about the things we say. Those kids did nothing to deserve dying for their father’s sins or crimes. He has not been found guilty by any competent court in Nigeria because he was found complicit or culpable of any crime, every allegations labeled against him are based on conjectures with no evidence.. Let us refrain from these sorts of talks and be sympathetic no matter what he may have done. We don’t know him personally apart from what we read and how he portrays himself on the pages of our newspapers. A Christian woman just rained all sorts of curses on the man when she does not know him in person that God is punishing him for all his sins. This God that is so quick to punish na wa o! For all I care the man may be a good person but a bad politician/public official these are two different things. It’s not nice for now let us separate the man from politics, he is grieving, he is human, he is fallible like all of us, he has lost a son at the prime of his life let us respect that. Death like rain pours on all roofs whether bad or good, villains and saints alike. Come on where is our milk of human kindness? May the soul of the young man find sweet repose at the bosom of his maker.
