ONE PROBLEM WE HAVE IN THE WEST is that a percentage of Muslims may be born into Islam without ever knowing much about the ideology of their religion. This class of Muslim may or may not practice the basic rituals of Islam prescribed in the Quran, and we may term them marginal Muslims. And this class of Muslims loyalty to Islam may be rooted more in a pride of family sense, than to religious ideology. However, Islam is not a religion that tolerates apostates or heresy -- laying a death penalty on both acts. So the marginal Muslim (if any truly exist) cannot really speak out against the atrocities of Islam without crossing the two capital offenses of heresy and apostasy. Then if we throw in the taqiyya (deception) that the Quran commands, we on the outside cannot know for sure whether a Muslim who professes Western leanings is truly a marginal member of Islam, or is deceiving us so that we lower our guard against the more jihadic Muslim who intends harm to all non-Muslims. My opinion, based on actually having once embraced the religion, and having actually been brought before an Islamic council on charges of heresy and apostosy, is that Islam is by nature and design terroristic, and we cannot discern the possible moderate Muslim from the Muslim practicing taqiyya (deception). transcend7/opinion%20-%20Islam%20-%20Development.htm
