A village and an artists colony that was established in the 1920s, when Irish theater artiste and environmentalist, Norah Richards, shifted here from Lahore. Situated near Palampur in the Kangra District, with Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas as a backdrop, Andretta over the years has attracted many noted artists, theater practitioners, painters and studio potters. Some of the people who became associated with it, early on were painters, Sobha Singh, Prithvi Raj Kapoor and B. C. Sanyal. Sherabling Monastery: A slice of authentic Tibetan culture, the resonance of 1300 monks chanting ancient sutras will engulf your senses on reaching this hidden oasis. It houses a forty two feet high Buddha. The 8th Kenting Tai Situpa Chokyi Jugne founded the great Sherabling monastery in 1727 in Tibet and the Palpung Sherabling monastery is now the seat of succeeded XII Kenting Tai Situpa, and a centre for living art and culture.
