ONONDAGA TO ALBANY, START OF THE TWO ROW JOURNEY --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Onondaga creek , Onondaga lake , Seneca river , Oneida river , Oneida lake , Erie canal , Mohawk river and the great Hudson river Day1 Tuesday july2 Start from Gipson Bridge on the Onondaga nation about 10:00am. Go down Onondaga creek through Nedrow and the city of Syracuse and the inner harbor. Land on the north east end of Onondaga lake in Long Branch park around 4:00 or 5:00 pm for the festival at willow bay. Head north up the lake to the Erie Canal. Then head east to the bayberry area to rain camp (no access) for camp1. Day2 Wednesday july3 head out from (rain camp)bayberry woods. Continuing east through the canal to the corner of maider rd. and county RT 57 to call for lunch. Meet at the south side of the bridge at the corners of Maider rd.Morgan rd. and oak orchard rd. for lunch for about an hour.Head out though the canal to lock (E23) Brewerton (315-676-9171) state canal park. Then off to Oneida shores state park for camp2. Day3 Thursday july4 start out from Oneida shores state park head east along the south shore of the lake. About half way across the lake we stop for lunch at Briggs bay. Pizza stop at state or county boat launch on Bushnell rd. but the map on my phone calls it bush rd. for about an hour then head out toparadise cove on fish creek for third camp. Day4 Friday july5 head out from paradise cove (315-762-0210) and head north to sylvan beach and go east on the canal go through lock (E22) sylvan beach (315-336-4329) andlock (E21)new London (315-336-8229) stop for lunch and supply’s at circle dr. just off of 46 and 49 a crossed from the new London food mart for about an hour. Head east on the canal stop around Rome for camp four. Day5 Saturday july6 start the day heading out from thewoods around Rome. Head East on the Erie Canal. Either have lunch at where nine mile river, Erie Canal and Mohawk Rivermeet or lock (E20) Whitesboro (315-736-4617) then to barns ave near the train tracks just west of Utica. This Off the waterto k.O.A Herkimer for camp5. Day6 Sunday july7 rest day at k.O.A Herkimer Day7 Monday july8 we’re starting at the train tracks out west end of Utica on barns ave. Have lunch lock (E19)Frankfort (315-733-5041) or in the town of Frankfort for an hour then off to lock (E18) Herkimer (315-823-2419). For camp seven. Day8 Tuesday july9 head out from lock (E18)Herkimer (315-823-2419). Heading east through the canal to the town of little falls. Go through lock (E17) Little falls (315-823-0650) and have lunch at Moss Island for about an hour. Then go through lock (E16) st Johnsville (518-568-2636) head to st.Johnsvill marina for camp eight. Day9 Wednesday july10 strarting from St. Johnsvillmarina get on the canal go east on the canal. Go through lock (E15) fort plaine (518-993-4161) and lock (E14) Canajoharie(518-373-3314) and on down the canal to tom porters for camp nine. Day10 Thursday july11 Event at Tom Porter’s. drums along the mohawk Day 11 Friday July 12 head out from tom porters gothrough lock (E13) Randall (518-922-6173) lunch at or aroundFonda for about an hour. Stop at lock (E12) tribe’s hill (528-829-7331) mile 43.52. For camp 10 Day12 Saturday july13. Start at lock (E12) tribes hill (528-829-7331) mile 43.52 go through lock (E11) Amsterdam(518-887-5450) mile 39.29 and have lunch at lock (E10)Cranesvill (518-887-5450) mile 35.02 for about an hour head east through the canal to lock(E9) at Rotterdam junction (578-491-8205) or have lunch at the(town of Glenville) land and be greeted at mabee farm for camp 11. Day14 Sunday july15. Event at mabee farm. Head out from mabee farm go through lock (E8) scotia (518-346-3382) mile 24.04 go east through the canal passed Schenectady lunch at lock (E7) wischerferry (518-374-7912) canal parkmunicipality town of Niskayuna. Head to lock (E6) Waterford(518-237-4014) mile 2.15 then to lock (E5) Waterford (518-237-0821) on to lock (E5) Waterford (518-237-0821) mile 1.87on to lock (E4) Waterford (518-237-0818) mile 1.60 east tolock (E3) Waterford (518-237-0812) the on to lock (E2)Waterford (518-237-0810) mile .63 then off to peebles island end of the trip
