OPEN NOTE TO FIRSTGROUP/MR. MAWULI HEDO & FRIENDS! Dear Mr. - TopicsExpress

OPEN NOTE TO FIRSTGROUP/MR. MAWULI HEDO & FRIENDS! Dear Mr. Hedo, Greetings. I trust you are in good health. You are the CEO of the First Group, a business with interests in several sectors, at least those I know of locally. You, and your team, have done well for yourselves. I am glad I was there sum. Ive just read a statement purportedly issued by FirstBanC, a member of the First Group, through its Acting MD, Mr. Samuel Asiedu. (spyghana/firstbanc-received-no-funds-in-the-tpfa-asiedu/). I have no beef with the contents of your statement, and I am sure any firm worth its salt would/should do same. My BEEF, however, is with the last sentence which says, and I quote, Mr Asiedu intimated that the company was currently talking to its lawyers, and would subsequently take the next line of action. I am disappointed, and displeased, at the veiled threat to my good friend Franklin Cudjoe of IMANI. It was totally unnecessary and smacks of an attempt to muzzle public discourse. As a matter of fact, I am more than displeased. I am incensed beyond measure. I dont like my friends being threatened. I will advise that you, and your friends, recant this threat. I will remind you, and your friends, that issuing threats, AND carrying it out, is not the preserve of one group of people. You, and your friends, should stop acting like Boko Haram. While you reflect on this, I will like to remind you, and your friends, of the oft quoted Ibo proverb popularized by Chinua Achebe, that A man who brings home ant-infested faggots should not complain if he is visited by lizards. I will add my own: If you go out of your way to look for plutonium, youll find a nuclear bomb! Finally, I dont know if you are a movie fan. Even if you are not, Ill urge you, and your friends, to make time and watch Troy, particularly the scene where King Agamemnon lands on the shores of Thessaly, and specifically the part of the dialogue where King Triopas said to King Agamemnon: You cant have the whole world, Agamemnon. Its too big, EVEN FOR YOU. Emphasis mine...and Ill add, AND YOUR FRIENDS! Good day sir, and enjoy the week. My regards to: 1. Mrs. Hedo 2. His Royal Majesty King Drolor Bosso Adamtey I, Suapolor of the Se Traditional Area 3. Mr. Samuel Asiedu, Acting MD of FirstBanC 4. Dela Zumanu, of First Group, General Media (TV3), & Pensions Alliance Trust 5. Mr. Emmanuel Botchway 6. Mr. Seth Terpker 7. Henry Akpenamawu Kofi Wampah, Governor, Bank of Ghana 8. Marrieta Brew Appiah Opong, and 9. His Excellency, The President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama.
