OPERATIONS ORDER NO. SBM-2014-031 TEMPORARY RESIDENCE VISA (TRV) FOR EGYPTIAN NATIONALS WHEREAS, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) issued Foreign Service Circular (FSC) No. 116-2014 dated 5 June 2014 in accordance with Section 263 of the Foreign Service Code of 1983 concerning the Grant of Immigration Visa on Reciprocal Basis and in line with the report of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in its Note No. 044/2014/mvdr dated 5 May 2014; WHEREAS, all Foreign Service Circulars, Orders, and regulations inconsistent with the FSC 116-2014 are thereby superseded, insofar as they pertain to Egyptian nationals, including Section F of FSC 21-10 dated 22 February 2010 and FSC 40-10 dated 26 April 2010; WHEREAS, on 7 June 2014 DFA Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs Wilfredo C. Santos wrote a letter to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) requesting BI to update its regulations towards Egyptian Nationals in accordance with FSC 116-2014; WHEREFORE, pursuant to the Commissioner’s rule-making authority under Section 3 of Commonwealth Act No. 613 and consistent with FSC 116-2014, the following regulations shall be implemented: 1. All Egyptian men married to Filipino women are qualified for Temporary Residence Visa (TRV) valid for three (3) years, provided that they comply with the requirements imposed by the Bureau. They shall be granted conversion of status to TRV or extension of TRV, whichever is applicable, with a validity period of 3 years. 2. All Egyptian women married to Filipino men are qualified for TRV valid for five (5) years, provided that they comply with the requirements imposed by the Bureau. They shall be granted conversion of status to TRV or extension of TRV, whichever is applicable, with a validity period of 5 years. All previous issuances inconsistent herewith are hereby superseded and/or amended accordingly. This order shall take effect immediately. For strict compliance.
