ORIENTATION # 656 : POST MATERIALISM AND SHOCKING FACTS ________________________________ From a private conversation ________________________________ ...Indeed, it is almost irrelevant to focus ourselves on materia security ... thats, yes, relatively impo rtant in order to maintain even just a semblance of psychological security ... but potentially damaging , and almost always harmful to the tangibility of our psychological integrity. Today we live in an era which I define as post- materialism . If we analyze carefully the life we do .. if you look at the junk we are surrounded with and by ... in both worlds : the psychological one and the material one.. and if we feed an analytical level of intelligence that can externalize itself from the rhetoric , moral , cognitive and socio- culturally conditioned bubble in which each of us lives .. then we can infer that what we hold close to us .. very very close to us.. physically and psychologically ... goes even beyond materialism .. It is an idea of life what we hold so badly sometimes .. a concept ... a picture of what our lives is .. interlaced with our identity .. This picture of us, this concept of I am this .. this identity ... walking in the fog of uncertainty .. is the very idea from from which all our inner tensions arise ... Its no longer materialism what we cling to so to avoid the possibility of losing pieces of our syncopated psychological safety .. but rather, ( and this is really upsetting ), is merely our own confusion ... which nowadays became simply a moodern identity.. Its a modern paradox : we are confused but we do not care abot that .. not at all... and what we protect ... disrupted by the modern world and its follies is our own confusion itself ... The manifestations of this act to protect our mist are to be sought in the range of psychological activities and therefore material acts that most of us put into practice every day : from the self-segregation in a job that maybe we do not like at all ... up to amusement at every cost ... from compulsive shopping ( and subsequent repentance and regret ) .. up to the dusty spiritual and mystical searching available in the big shopping malls of the modern new age and spirituality of nonsenses & hebetudes with no end ... What we protect unconsciously , which is our confusion ... is simultaneously what scares us the most... as well: its what we fight in the conscious sphere in form of fear of the future , fear of losing pieces, and so on ... An attentive mind does not care to invest psychological energy to predict the future: an attentive mind and careful observer notes and observes what is is ... the reality in its wwholeness ... in the attempt, unambitious attempt , to dissolve its inner fog.. It is not confusion... with all of its weight of nervousness and everlasting searching searching ... but attentiveness with no beliefs and no identity.. what we all should psychologically protect Think about these things ________________________________________________________ endoffear.weebly/ jessicamystic
