OUTLOOK TO EARLY JANUARY: This weekend: On & off rain showers - TopicsExpress

OUTLOOK TO EARLY JANUARY: This weekend: On & off rain showers on Saturday. Mild & breezy, highs in the upper 40s/lower 50s. Mix of sun & clouds on Sunday and cooler. Highs in the middle 30s. Monday: Partly cloudy and cooler. Highs in the middle 30s. Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of some snow showers (no significant snow). Highs in the upper 20s. Wed-Fri: Much cooler with a mix of sun & clouds. Highs in the upper teens to middle 20s. Lows in the lower teens. Wind chills single digits to near zero. Could see some lake effect snow, although no significant accumulation looks likely at this time since we lack moisture. Next weekend (Jan 3 & 4): Warmer. High temperatures in the 30s. Rain/snow possible on Saturday as a strong low pressure moves across the Midwest. Too early to determine exact precipitation or intensity, but worth monitoring for travel hazards. Systems similar to this often pick up a lot of Gulf moisture & warmer air, ending up being much warmer than models. So, be hesitant on any snow hype you hear in the coming few days as the model rippers start going nuts. ;) Following (Jan 5-9): Below normal temperatures. Highs in the 20s, lows in the teens/single digits. Also looks more active versus December pattern with a few chances for snow.
