OUTRAGE OF THE WEEK: Tupperware companies slightly modify the shapes of their products periodically so that new lids dont fit on old containers. But only slightly, so you cant tell whether a given lid is going to fit on a given container without physically trying to make it fit. But if you only think of this after youve put your leftovers in the plastic receptacle before you, you inevitably soil the ill-fitting lid (assuming you guessed wrong) and then you have to rewash it. And then, because youre washing more lids than containers, you eventually end up with too few lids for some future batch of leftovers. So then youre forced to break out the saran wrap and cover your tupperware that way. Later, you find yourself emptying the dishwasher of all these stray plastic lids and putting them back in the drawer, realizing that this cycle is likely to repeat itself indefinitely and that most of these lids are never going to fulfill the measure of their creation by being attached to their proper containers. Clearly, I should just go out to eat more.
